There are some really good things about both of them. I would choose the ones without the outlines mostly because the lines look so fake (because you did them in illustrator) instead of your great hand-drawn lines.
I like the texture a lot and I think you don't need the lines, except that the lines on the face in #527 looks really good, as does the red thing on the nose. I also like the warmer colors of the top one.
The shadow/shading is better on #526, so I would say, take that one, make the colors warmer and try some light lines on the face.
