Nothing says open like the open range! Of course, most people don't think of a wild hog farm being managed by ostrich cowboys when they think of the open range. I did this awhile back, in sepia ink and watercolor on 140 lb. arches watercolor paper. Enjoy the open range ya'll!

Lance, this looks really good. You have improved a ton since I last saw you. When we had classes together I could tell you were great at sketching/drawing but now you are great at color and finishing the pieces as well. Talk to Dani about what she did to get a children's book deal. I think your art/style would go well with so many children's stories.
Yeah, this looks really good Lance. If you're interested in children's books, the first thing I would do would make a series of pictures with the same characters -- maybe you can make a couple more images to go along with this one that shows a story?
I like this a lot too. The personalities are really good. I love seeing the process. It is interesting because my watercolors don't really look like yours in the middle. It is really cool to see the differences. It has given me some good ideas. Your picture has such fun storytelling elements too. What a great idea.
